Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 17th of March.
Good morning, Castle Rock.
🏛️ Government
A House Bill 1282 sponsored by Castle Rock Rep. Max Brooks would ban credit card companies from charging fees on tips and sales taxes—a move that could save small businesses thousands of dollars each year.
Local business owners said rising fees have increased financial struggles and hope that the change will free up funds for necessary investments if the bill passes.
Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will host rallies in Colorado as part of their Fighting Oligarchy tour.
They will hold their first rally in Greeley on Friday, March 21st at Bank of Colorado Arena (doors open at noon) and will later host a rally in Denver at Civic Center Park (doors open at 4 p.m.).
