- ➤ The Town of Castle Rock will host wildlife educational programs this spring that start with Wild in Our Town on Friday, April 18 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Philip & Jerry Miller Library and continue with three birdwatching classes on May 7, May 14, and May 17 that teach bird identification and guided tours (registration is required for the birdwatching classes) while experts advise bringing binoculars (for best viewing during the guided tours). - ➤ U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert held a remote teletownhall on March 26th with over 8,000 online viewers where she answered questions about her work in Congress. She said she will cut federal spending and pull funds from cities that do not follow federal law—she also discussed changes in immigration policies and measures to support local communities. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Douglas County first responders and community members donated blood at the Battle of the Badges drive on March 26 and 27 at the Fairgrounds and Parker Field House, with law enforcement posting 125 presenting donors and fire rescue 89. Vitalant and local agencies organized the drive to support blood supplies for surgeries, injuries and medical treatments — a vital need for patients. Douglas County News-Press
