- ➤ Jason Thomas Owen, 51, was reported missing on March 25 and later found dead in his Douglas County apartment—police are searching for June Nimmons, 44, who was last heard from in late February. Denver7
- ➤ Family and friends of Jalin Seabron said they will continue to seek justice after a district attorney ruled deputy Nick Moore's shooting on Feb. 8 at a Main Event center in Highlands Ranch was justified — they plan to pursue every available avenue to hold him accountable. Castle Rock News-Press
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo Association began updating Casey Jones Park when volunteers removed the south stands on March 22—new accessible aluminum bleachers will be installed in May to add nearly 300 seats ahead of the June rodeo. The association also launched the Stampede to Read Program on March 28—local schools are participating as over 400 vouchers are issued and the drink line process is being streamlined for summer events. - ➤ On April 2, Castle Rock's Douglas County Transportation Steering Committee heard an update from DRCOG on its first revised 2050 Regional Transportation Plan since 2021—focusing on changes to the Regional Roadway System. Officials said the case is not linked to travel-related incidents — suggesting community transmission — and advised anyone who visited Wolf Creek Ski Area, a clinic, or City Market during the exposure period to monitor for symptoms.
