  • Douglas County Libraries have upgraded interactive playscapes to give children aged 2 to 8 a hands-on way to practice real-life skills. The updates at Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch — which include a play bank, market, and vet clinic — show the county's ongoing commitment as more libraries add similar features.  Douglas County News-Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) is giving away 120,000 wildflower seed packets that contain 151 million seeds to help kids and families enjoy the outdoors. The packets are available now at 585 local sites (including libraries and state parks) until supplies run out.  Denver7

SPORTS NEWS

  • Legend baseball's Titans won 8-6 against rival Castle View on April 11 in Castle Rock—dedicating the win to teammate Tyler Harvey who was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer before his likely final game at Legend. Coach Scott Boyd said the team played for Tyler—honoring his memory—during their 12-game league schedule that began on April 14.  Castle Rock News-Press
