Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 17th of April.
Good morning, Castle Rock.
🎭 Culture
Parker resident Jill Marks started her own publishing company to honor her late son Guy with a book series that blends family travel stories and word lessons.
She turned her love for reading and writing into a healing journey — the books keep his memory alive — and she will release her next title inspired by recent travels soon.
🏛️ Government
Families who lost loved ones to careless driving supported a bill yesterday that would raise the penalty from a misdemeanor to a felony — the new charge would carry fines up to $100,000, jail time, and a year of mandatory parole, and lawmakers will debate the bill again on Monday.
Advocates say the change is needed to better hold drivers accountable.
