Castle Rock’s Scavenge The Rock is underway as locals and visitors explore 25 historic markers and 26 downtown businesses to earn points while rediscovering town history; clue sheets have been available at the museum since May 1 and participants will win prizes in a drawing at 3 p.m. on May 31 + the event honors National Historic Preservation Month.

Castle Rock Town Council will hold public hearings on May 6 and May 20 at Town Hall to decide the future of the 535-acre Pine Canyon project east of town— the project, proposed by JRW Family Limited Partnership, may include up to 800 single-family homes, 1,000 multifamily units, a resort spa, hotel, commercial space and an elementary school site while concerns over water, traffic and emergency services persist.
