Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 5th of June.
Good morning, Castle Rock.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Polis declared a statewide drought emergency on Thursday in Colorado—activating Phase 3 of the drought response plan after record low snowpack and extreme warmth led to worsening water restrictions.
The declaration enables state agencies to track conditions more closely and support local communities, farmers and ranchers as conditions worsen.
The Colorado Department of Transportation urged drivers to inspect brakes, chains, and tires as dry summer conditions raise wildfire risks.
The agency has also launched emergency tree trimming on risky highways & encourages motorist vigilance across the state.
