Good morning, Castle Rock.

The Town of Castle Rock will host Bike to Work Day on June 25; commuters can enjoy a free breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. at Festival Park and join by biking, carpooling, walking, or rollerblading to work.

The event offers giveaways and prize drawings—like a round of golf for four at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course or Summer Concert Series Lawn Pass season tickets—sponsored by local businesses and the Denver Regional Council of Governments.

A vehicle theft suspect was arrested in Douglas County after leading deputies on a chase early Friday morning when a Flock camera spotted a stolen vehicle at an apartment complex, and after a tactical vehicle intervention the suspect rammed a patrol car injuring one deputy, narcotics were found in his car + he now faces multiple charges.

Douglas County voters have received ballots for a June 24 special election that asks if the county should write its own home rule charter — a plan that could give local leaders more control — after a May 28 town hall where officials explained the measure and its cost of up to $500,000. Supporters and opponents remain divided as candidates pledge to join the charter commission if the vote passes.
