  • The Town of Castle Rock will host its annual Pedal the Moon bike ride on July 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.—participants will start from either Castle View High School at 7 p.m. or Douglas County High School at 7:15 p.m. and ride about six miles along East Plum Creek Trail to Festival Park to enjoy food, music and glow giveaways while following safety rules.  Town of Castle Rock

SPORTS NEWS

  • The National Federation of High Schools announced new basketball rule changes for the upcoming 2025-26 season—defining goaltending as a violation only when a defensive player touches the ball on its downward flight after hitting the backboard—while a 35-second shot clock will be added starting in the 2026-27 season.  Castle Rock News-Press
