CRIME NEWS

  • Douglas County deputies reported that Bryan Eyermann, 42, who was discharged from hospital on June 23 after being seen at home on June 19, has been missing for over three weeks and is believed to be on foot—officials urge anyone with information to contact Detective Donoho.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local law enforcement warns that most fireworks are illegal in Colorado—only fountains, snakes or glow worms, sparklers, ground spinners, illuminating torches and toy tanks and cars are allowed; in Castle Rock a permit is needed for any fireworks use. Violations may lead to up to 10 days in jail or fines up to $300.  Denver7
  • Local nonprofits in Castle Rock that offer water, energy, food or shelter services can apply for up to $45,000 in funds through the Philip S. Miller Grant program, with the Finance Department managing applications and the Public Safety Commission evaluating proposals—Town Council will make final decisions.   • Three new ice hockey rules will take effect for the 2025-2026 season in Colorado as officials rule that the puck is unplayable when it rests on top of the goal and goalkeepers cannot wear audio or video devices — the update also replaces the word linesman with linesperson to improve safety and clarity.  Douglas County News-Press
