  • Chris Lane and special guest Chase McDaniel will perform country music at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park on Saturday, Aug. 9. Gates open at 6 p.m. and Chris Lane starts at 8:30 p.m. while tickets cost $45 — food trucks and a cocktail bar will be available.  Town of Castle Rock

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Several agencies responded to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park when reports came in around 4:30 p.m. Monday of an adult missing on a paddleboard—South Metro Fire Rescue, West Metro Fire Rescue, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have launched a boat search and are checking from the shore.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • MSU Denver Political Science professor Robert Prehus said the sweeping bill signed on July 4 ends the federal electric vehicle tax incentive later this year and cuts Medicaid programs, which could leave between 50—75,000 Coloradans without coverage. He noted the bill may also lead to job reductions at local energy research facilities.  Denver7

HEALTH NEWS

  • The first safety studies on 7-OH, a compound from Kratom leaves used for pain relief, were released to the public Monday and showed only a few mild side effects; experts are urging age restrictions and third-party testing + clearer labeling to guide safe use. Some Colorado regulations already limit high levels of 7-OH in Kratom products.  Denver7
