- ➤ Fire crews and the sheriff’s office in Douglas County worked to contain a nearly 130-acre fire near Titan Court and Highway 85 that broke out on July 13 and was 90% contained by 11 a.m. on July 14. More than 140 personnel responded and investigators have not yet determined the cause—crews continue building fire lines with no reported injuries. Douglas County News-Press

- ➤ South Metro Fire Rescue said a vegetation fire near US 85 burned 140 acres and reached 90% containment by Sunday evening—overnight rain helped slow the blaze. Douglas County crews used water drops every five minutes and 140 personnel fought spot fires as helicopter crews returned on Monday to battle the fire near Chatfield State Park. Denver7
