ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A reintroduced female gray wolf from December 2023 died in Wyoming on July 24—she is the seventh reintroduced wolf to die this year, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Castle Rock Town Council is considering a proposal to update downtown building height limits by setting a uniform maximum of 4 stories for new construction and is inviting residents, business owners and property stakeholders to provide input. Community members may submit feedback online or attend an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. on August 21 at Town Hall—comments will be reviewed at the Sept. 16 Council meeting—guiding future development.  Town of Castle Rock
  • Governor Jared Polis has said he will not support using Colorado National Guard members for ICE work as nearly 2,000 Guard troops are set to be mobilized in some states—he noted that using state forces for immigration enforcement risks federal overreach—while Colorado officials and immigrant groups have seen no clear plans for such deployment.  Denver7
