  • Ten Safeway stores in Colorado will close on or before November 7—this consolidation forms the new Mountain West Division to help the company focus on growth. The closures include stores in Colorado Springs, La Junta, and Lamar—employees affected by the changes may be reassigned to nearby locations.  Denver7

  • Mayor Jason Gray will deliver the State of Town address on Tuesday, Sept 30th at 6 p.m.—at Cantril School—to update residents on public safety, parks and recreation, roadwork, water and development projects and share plans for 2026 and beyond. Residents are encouraged to arrive early for a treat from the Castle Rock Police Department and to park in the Encore garage with Town Trolley service from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  Town of Castle Rock
