Good morning, Castle Rock.

Castle Rock Police and Colorado Parks and Wildlife advise residents to secure trashcans, remove birdfeeders, and keep garage doors closed to keep bears and deer safe this fall.

Officials urge drivers to slow down and scan roads at dawn and dusk — especially with Daylight Saving Time ending Nov. 2 — to prevent wildlife collisions.

Conservation groups and home builders are teaming up to help save the monarch butterfly as its population has dropped more than 80% in recent decades—Taylor Morrison is establishing certified gardens in Colorado while Butterfly Pavilion has planted 100,000 oyamel fir trees in partnership with Mexico to restore winter habitat. These efforts aim to support the monarchs' long migration and ensure a safe return for future generations.
