Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 25th of November.
Good morning, Castle Rock.
🏘️ Community
Go Church in Central Park is hosting its fifth annual blood drive to help a church member in need as community donors are encouraged to use walk-in slots.
Pastor Nick Callaway highlighted the drive’s growth and the church’s commitment to care—an effort that brings neighbors together during the holidays.
🏛️ Government
Colorado Access reported that providers are worried about rising healthcare costs and sustainability as discussions continue on potential Medicaid funding cuts.
Governor Polis proposed slowing Medicaid growth in his 2026-27 budget, which would require prior authorization for some services and cap dental benefits—further discussions with lawmakers are underway to protect quality care.
After a cyber attack on CodeRED—which leaked user data and blocked alerts during a prescribed burn—several local law enforcement agencies have canceled or reviewed their contracts and are testing alternatives like RAVE.
Authorities also urge residents to change any reused passwords to protect over 200,000 accounts.
